Description
The "Wall of Remembrance" passed through my town in July of 2016. It was an honor to read the names of those who died on September 11, 2001. I will never forget.
"Created by United States Marine David Brown and Patriot Richard "JR" Nichols for the 10 Year remembrance of the attacks on 9/11 to show not only the history but to pay tribute to the Americans lost to acts of terrorism and the military fallen that answered the call to arms. The memorial was first displayed on 9/11/2011 and was made of 29 panels that were 6 feet high and 3 feet wide, there was a full color timeline on one side going from 1983 to August 2011 and the names on the other side had those lost on 9/11/2001 and U.S. military fallen from Afghanistan and Iraq.
Since it's inception we have added 3 new panels and almost 800 names. The memorial now has just over 10,550 fallen, heroes and victims from the Global War on Terrorism. The timeline covers, Beirut, Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Somalia, Bosnia, U.S.S. Cole, 9/11/2001, Afghanistan (OEF, OFS), Iraq (OIF, OND & OIR), Ft. Hood TX., Benghazi, Boston MA., Chattanooga TN. and San Bernardino. The uniqueness of this memorial is that it's perpetual until the U.S. Government declares the Global War on Terrorism Campaign to be closed."
