Sand Mountain is a singing dune located 25 miles east of Fallon, Neveda along U.S. Route 50. The dune is 2 miles long and 600 feet high. The sand originates from the ancient Lake Lahontan that dried up 9,000 years ago.
This shot was taken on top of the dune on April 20, 2013.
